If you’re looking for a handy little “cheat sheet” that can help you remember the nerve innervations for the main muscles of the body, then hopefully this one can help!
This one-page sheet breaks down major muscles of the abdomen, chest, back, arms, and legs and groups all of them by the nerves that innervate them. There’s also a quick dermatomal map and myotomal chart for easy reference.
Back in my days of PT school, I created this handy little one-page sheet to help quickly memorize which muscles were innervated by which nerves. I still use it to this day, and I hope that it can help you out on your quest to get through PT school, or whichever health professions school you’re currently working through!
How to read this sheet
- Each quadrant of the page is divided into a different region of the body, making it rather quick and easy to navigate. Muscles in each list are listed in alphabetical order.
- The main red headings refer to a section of the body
- Beneath each of these sections, you’ll find the corresponding nerves associated with that region (black headings).
- Under each nerve (black heading) you’ll find the muscles innervated by that particular nerve.
- Please note that this sheet does not include muscles or innervations for the head and neck.
